Screencast for EDUC 552

Check out my Screencast for EDUC 552. It is directions for finding this blogspot and my twitter account to watch a video and to reflect on their fitness testing scores. YOU BET I will be using this blogspot and my new screencast to show my students. Very excited and what an easy tool to use to mix up instruction for your students. Obviously this should benefit the students and some of their learning styles.

Fitness Testing Animoto

This is my first time using the Animoto program and I thought it was awesome! Please check out my Fitness Testing Animoto! What a resource and I plan on using this video before we start our testing in 2 weeks. Looking forward to this and the student's reaction! This will be introduced to students when we get back from Spring Break because that is when we begin our Fitness Testing Unit. I am excited to show the students and pump them up for their tests!

TWEET TWEET

Twitter is an unreal social media tool but also can be used for so many other things. I love to use it for resources for school but also for personal use like my workouts! I get alot of workout ideas from trainers and websites that advertise their ideas through this cool resource. I have learned that Twitter is endless and the ideas behind it are exactly what Mrs. Feldmann said "a game changer". I have the great pleasure of having alot of friends or guys I played with that are in Pro Baseball. To see how these guys live and how they are just like normal guys. Their job happens to be televised every night during the summer. I am a huge Creighton Basketball fan and follow most of the team. It is truly amazing to realize that 20-22 year old kids are using this resource to communicate with their fans their apprecication or even their lifestyles. I also follow many teaching professionals from other states. These are just a few but I really enjoy what Twitter stands for and how they allow people to reach out to others for collaboration and just plain fun. Regardless of this class I will definately use this tool as long as I am breathing, I LOVE TWITTER!!!!

Richard Byrne: Geeky? or just plain Cool!

So after looking through the syllabus and finding richard Byrne on twitter and his blog "Free Technology for Teachers", I realize this dude is pretty cool. He is a total techie and I enjoy what he has to offer. On his last post he had written about the Google Play App on the android market that allows you to have all access to all of your goodle apps in one. Google music, Google Docs, etc. I also found that he has a cool app called AudioMemo where you can create audio files on a computer or on an ipad or phone. You can record audio for use when studying or maybe writing or quoting in an article. This is really cool when you have studetns write for a newspaper who have access to an ipad. I really do think that using this blog I have now could benefit my students because it can be used for PE talk, review sessions, parent contact, or even for my Fuel Up to Play 60 team and their accomplishments or announcements. Just an overall great way of communicating using new technology. I look forward to what Richard has to offer in the upcoming semsester and school year. He seems to have alot of knowledge on technology in the classroom and I believe in PE we could really benefit from some of his ideas.
